Making the most of your Rehearsal Dinner

Happy Thursday!

I hope your Spring is off to a great start!! If you are engaged or work in the wedding industry you're likely starting to feel a buzz in the air with the shift of seasons. Spring always brings about an air of excitement and anticipation as wedding season is just around the corner.

Our plans for this year's weddings are falling right into place and we're starting to answer questions and help our clients in planning their rehearsal dinners.

I wanted to take a moment to share with you some thoughts on hosting your own rehearsal dinner and how you can truly make the most of this special pre-wedding celebration!

Your rehearsal dinner typically includes all members of your bridal party, their significant others and immediate family members. Some couples opt to host more of a welcome reception, where all guests are invited to the pre-wedding festivities, but for the sake of this post, let's assume you are hosting an intimate gathering with your closest loved ones!!

We love to use our couples rehearsal dinners as a chance to get a little creative and share a glimpse (but not too much), of what is to come on the wedding day. Your rehearsal dinner can be a place where you build on your decor concept and perhaps source an element that you may really want to have at your wedding but is simply more budget-friendly for a group of 20 guests, rather than 200.

Decorative items like floral, charger plates, menus, linens and chairs all compliment the look of a rehearsal dinner and make your guests feel that much more appreciated, considering you took the time and care to plan such an intentional celebration for just them!

You may even consider entertainment like Laura & Gavin did, where a few musical bridal party members serenaded guests during a brief cocktail reception.

Whether you plan to host your rehearsal dinner in your backyard, at your wedding venue, or perhaps an alternate location like a bar or restaurant, consider this as an opportunity to extend your creativity and know that a few simple touches can go a long way when hosting such an important aspect of your wedding weekend!

I'd love to hear what you have in mind, (or did) for your own rehearsal dinner - hop on over to our Instagram account and let us know in the comments section of our photos!

Have the best weekend! Katelyn
