Karen & Art

A Winery Love Affair

Have you ever dreamed of being married amongst the rolling vistas of a world renowned Nova Scotian Winery? Celebrating your marriage to your beloved with family and friends dining on fine foods and dancing into the wee-hours of the morning?  Our sweet Bride, Karen did! From the moment Art popped the question those wedding day-dreams we already becoming a reality.

If you can believe it, most of this day was planned pre-engagement by the clever groom and our team. Once we had the enormous pleasure of meeting Karen we quickly pulled together final details to make this special day all her own.

Lovers of travel, wine and design, our couple hosted this epic celebration during a hot August summer afternoon. The day started with a day-trip to Peggy Cove for guests, stopping for some famous Nova Scotian lobster rolls and on to one meaningful and love-filled ceremony. Kitchen Door Catering delighted with a custom Italian themed five course meal, with wine pairings and discussion table-side from the venues Head Wine Maker throughout dinner.

Karen and Art's Benjamin Bridge Winery wedding in Wolfville, Nova Scotia was one of those once-in-a-lifetime, lucky to just be a fly on the wall kinda days and we our so proud to have played a part.

Cheryl & Glenn

Downtown Romance

The Prince George Hotel is one of Halifax's most prominent downtown wedding destinations. From the modern contemporary aesthetic, to the exceptionally welcoming service and fine cuisine, the venue offered Cheryl and Glenn exactly what they were looking for in the perfect summer wedding local.

Our guests were showered with love throughout the course of Cheryl and Gelnn's wedding day. The couples generosity took precedence over the course of planning. Cheryl's distinct but classic style guided our decor decisions and their love for good food and a traditional east-coast party aided in all meal and entertainment decisions.

One of my personal favourite stylistic choices of Cheryl's was her merlot Bridesmaids dresses. There's something about a punch of colour against a soft, romantic colour pallet to bring a decor concept alive.

Cloudy skies were not going to dampen this day and in true Maritime fashion the clouds parted and the sun made an appearance just minutes prior to the wedding ceremony.

Jacqueline & Craig

Close family and dear friends celebrated this joyous occasion at our Grooms family property. Orchard Oaks, sits on a picturesque Annapolis Valley apple orchard, which was our guiding inspiration for all decor related selections.

The wedding day was nothing short of amazing, brimming with details intentionally selected with care. From the idyllic little-white-church ceremony that our Bride had always dreamed of, to watching the sun set over the orchard during dinner, the day unfolded as if we were living out a true fairy tale.

Jacqueline and Craig's wedding was rooted in their strong shared values of faith, service, (both fine dining and entertainment) and above all else love.

Carolyn & Patrick

If you were to ask me what venues sit at the top of my favourite Nova Scotia wedding locations, Fox Harb’r Golf Resort and Spa lands very high on this list.

Carolyn and Patrick hosted a one of a kind wedding weekend. Festivities including golfing, spa services, skeet shooting and fine dining were abound.

Their picturesque wedding ceremony took place overlooking the Northumberland Straight, with the most dapper of all ring bearers - the couples two year old golden, Bronco. Guests sipped cocktails on the terrace followed by a traditional Nova Scotian fare of lobster surf and turf. To everyones delight, the sun set angelically over the clear roof reception tent, allowing guests to watch our Bride and Groom steal a sweet moment in front of the camera in the most spectacular light (pictured below).

Morgan & Adrian

There’s nothing sweeter then hosting your wedding in the backyard where you grew up and where you will one day watch your children grow and play.

Morgan and Adrian’s one of a kind wedding day paired costal class with a relaxed atmosphere. Much like this gorgeous couple themselves who love to enjoy the finer things in life, yet any given Saturday you can find them frolicking in the outdoors or hopping on the boat to explore the nearby islands - where much of the driftwood and decor elements were sourced for this day.

Wedding guests were delightfully surprised and loved on at every moment possible throughout this day. From the welcoming water station where you were serenaded by the sounds of a live harp, to a hand drawn map of how to best explore the vast gardens throughout the property, custom cocktails and lawn games followed by a delicious meal. An evening of dancing capped off perfectly with a fireworks display that could give Disney a run for it’s money and late night eats delivered in true Halifax style, a la food truck!

It was the wedding of all weddings and one we feel very fortunate to have had the pleasure to plan alongside our sweet Bride.

Shea & Curtis

Shea & Curtis’ wedding was inspired by Shea’s love of all things pretty. More specifically, Kate Spade, Rifle Paper Co. and the couples shared love of movies.  A large tree with overgrown boughs where they would recite their personalized vows to each other under, a charming rustic setting and the loveliest details were at the top of Shea’s wish list.

The wedding took place on a dreamy July day in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia at Healy Farms. I must say, July tends to be my favourite month for Valley weddings.

With family in attendance from near and far, their celebration was full of love, good eats (thank you Kitchen Door Catering) and the sweetest moments - like the time the grooms brother surprised the room with a compilation of home-videos of the couple from their early years - I'll never forget the tear-filled look of happiness on both sets of parents faces while that video rolled on.

Lauren & Luke

An intimate setting, where the couple can recite their vows, see the Atlantic Ocean, celebrate with 40 of their dearest family and friends and dance into the evening - sounds dreamy right? Lauren made very few requests throughout the course of planning, but knew we had found the "one" when it came to location as we happened upon Cliffside B&B in Digby Nova Scotia.

The couples love of adventure took their friends and family from across Canada on hikes, sea kayaking tours, and adventure throughout Nova Scotia, capped off by their picturesque wedding celebration.

Personalized touches, sentimental moments and a love for one another set the tone for this day. Lauren's memories of her mother's milk-glass collection drove floral decisions and the couples playful lifestyle made decisions like a late-night cookie buffet, vintage get-away car and the custom kraft-paper place cards (as pictured below) a no brainer when selecting design choices.

Erin & Keith

When the family farm is this picturesque there's simply no question when it comes to selecting a wedding venue. I remember my first time visiting the Kyte's farm in Egerton, Nova Scotia, and day-dreaming of possibilities for their wedding day while driving down the long overgrown driveway.

After the ceremony (what Erin coined her favourite past of the day), 170 excited guests were shuttled to the farm, where they spent the afternoon, relaxing, sipping mimosas, playing lawn games including a giant parachute - so cool, and enjoying each others company in a welcomed, family-centred atmosphere.

Erin's decor choices paired both formal in ways such as her stunning gown and by dressing the groomsmen in black tuxedos, with playful details, such as her stationery and floral selections. Inspiration for this day came from an old barn door Erin found on the property and instantly fell in love with. The colours and texture, represented everything she wanted her wedding to say, and I love how well all details came together.

Kass & Harrison

When your Bride brings you an inspiration board full of clip-outs from Michael Buble's wedding, you know you're in for a treat.

Kass and Harrison's wedding was everything and more. Decor choices paired, luxury, glitz and glam, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Guests were treated to a cocktail style reception at the newly renovated Prince George hotel, where his and her's bars offered the couples favourite cocktails. Stations served delicious fare while servers butlered canapés throughout the evening. The reception encouraged mix and mingling while listening to the sounds of jazz vocalist Daniel Matto.

The wedding cake designed by Layer's and the look on our Kass' face when she saw it for the first time (pictured below) will go down as one of my favourite captured moments of all time.

Jasmine & Lee

Jasmine & Lee's wedding was inspired by the natural elements of the Bride's Chester, NS family cottage where this day was hosted. A relaxed atmosphere, scrumptious locally sourced food and drink and personalized detail around every corner awaited 70 of their closest family and friends upon arrival to this celebration.

Our Bride envisioned her guests dining al fresco at one long table that curved around a natural bend on the property, over grown by trees and lit by vintage industrial bulbs. The planner in me struggled slightly when we opted not to place a tent on reserve (this is Nova Scotia remember), but Jasmine had faith in her dream day and I think it's safe to say that vision was accomplished and then some.

From Jasmine's custom wedding gown, to the family style fare, and all the sweet moments in between Jasmine and Lee's wedding day was full of sentiment and love and certainly one to remember.
